Former Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a ex- physician now faces charges for committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
The charges follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
List of Offences
The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
