Netflix Casts Perfect Star for Mr. 2 in One Piece Season 3
The Secret Organization is set to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, although the real showdown won’t unfold until the third season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.
The streaming service revealed recently that the skilled actor has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Bon Clay. The role possesses the power to transform into an exact copy of any person they’ve made contact with with their dominant hand. Escola, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will play a rendition of that role reimagined as non-binary, instead of as a drag artist, in the live-action show, differing from the initial comic and cartoon version.
The new cast member joins a number of fresh additions set to bring Baroque Works to reality, such as leader Mr. 0, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as another operative, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the lineup as the ruler of the fictional land.
Though the role is a key figure of the organization, the character will be introduced in One Piece season 3. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this signals a significant shift in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest further changes to the story’s structure.
Their mix of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the role. In addition to their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for penning and acting in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.
Netflix's live-action One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its next installment on March 10, 2026.
