We open with inquiries from Tory Member of Parliament the committee chair, that leads the panel.
She opens by offering background to the disclosed memo authored by Michael Prescott and printed in the Telegraph.
"It is not my wish for the British Broadcasting Corporation tilting in any particular direction, I simply desire it straight, unbiased and just," he says.
Upon being questioned whether he believes the British Broadcasting Corporation is systematically partial, Prescott responds: "Absolutely not. It is important to note, numerous aspects the BBC creates is top-tier - both factual and non-factual programming."
However, he continues: "There remains substantial tasks that must be undertaken at the BBC."
The second former external British Broadcasting Corporation consultant interviewed by the panel, Caroline Daniel, says she views the BBC with great importance and that it operates a "persistent practice and lively discussion" on dynamic and complex subjects.
"Was the BBC prepared to conduct a genuine dialogue and exchange and act accordingly?" she questions. "In my view, yes they were."
