Shock as Renowned South African DJ Gunned Down in Johannesburg.
A renowned South African radio and club DJ has been murdered in the metropolis of Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a country grappling with persistent crime.
Warrick Stock, widely recognized as DJ Warras, was gunned down in the downtown area on the afternoon of Tuesday.
Authorities reported the forty-year-old entertainer was confronted by a trio of assailants, with one shot at him before escaping on foot.
The motive of the incident remains unclear and no suspects have been apprehended have been made, according to authorities.
The Fatal Incident
Law enforcement said that Stock was targeted as he was departing from a building close to the city center landmark.
He had devoted time at the building overseeing the implementation of safety equipment, which had been reportedly taken over by squatters, according to reports.
"The report indicates the deceased was confronted by three unknown suspects after he parked his car, and they opened fire at him before escaping on foot," an official report stated.
Security camera video showed a suspect with dreadlocked hair and dressed in what looked like a security uniform opening fire on Stock before making his escape.
The DJ sought to escape after he was hit but succumbed to his injuries on the opposite side of the road.
It was further revealed that Stock had an gun that was not fired and no items were stolen during the incident.
