Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, but can the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' latest album, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer team," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was still Forest manager.

So, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.

A family member told me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great success on the road this term, and Brighton are always strong at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.

They have got plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not do that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
