Ukraine has announced the commencement of mass production for an innovative locally engineered defensive UAV to strengthen its aerial protection systems. Three initial producers have started manufacturing, with 11 more getting ready to set up assembly lines, the defence ministry stated this past Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Tested in Battlefield Conditions

These UAVs utilize a domestically developed system known as “Octopus” designed to neutralize Shahed drones. This technology has been tested in combat and demonstrated effective “at night, amid electronic warfare and at low altitudes,” the ministry stated. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set a target of manufacturing as many as 1,000 defensive drones daily.

Recent Attack on the Capital Described as Calculated

The Ukrainian president described Russia’s latest attack against Ukraine as “deliberate, premeditated and brutal” following six individuals were killed and dozens injured in a series of nocturnal attacks throughout Kyiv.
